Laal Singh Chaddha, a man with a low IQ, travels on a train and tells his story to fellow passengers, with current events in India in the background, they find it interesting that more passengers join. Years later, Roopa and Lal are in college together in Delhi and Lal still has the same feelings for her. But Roopa Tema plans to reach Mumbai as an actor and become rich until Lal joins the Indian Army.
